About Kadampa Buddhism

Vererable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

Modern Kadampa Buddhism is a special, practical presentation of Buddha’s teachings that is particularly suited to people of the modern world. It was introduced into contemporary society by the world-renowned meditation master and scholar Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.

Modern Kadampa Buddhism preserves the meaning and intention of Buddha’s original teachings while presenting them in a clear and systematic way that anyone of any nationality, age or gender can easily understand and put into practice.

Venerable Geshe-la’s message is as simple as it is profound – all the problems in this world originate in the mind, and the solutions to these problems and the causes of lasting peace and happiness are also to be found in the mind.

Chanted Prayers (Pujas)

Prayers (Pujas) are held regularly at Ganden KBC.
These are an important componant of training in a spiritual life – they help us to still our mind, connect with enlightened beings, and receive blessings.
All pujas are free of charge and everyone is welcome. Please see our calendar for a full list of all upcoming events which includes our daily, weekly and monthly pujas.

“In general, prayers made by an assembly of many practitioners are very powerful and cannot be compared to the prayers of one or two people. The scriptures give the analogy of a broom.
“If we try to clean a floor with a few bristles we shall make little progress, but if we gather many bristles to make a broom we shall be successful.”
