Wednesdays 7 – 8:00pm live-streamed with catch-up available for 7 days

These Wednesday online classes include guided meditations, thought-provoking teachings and the option to discuss and ask questions at the end via text-chat (live-stream only).

Everybody is welcome to attend these online classes – ideal for beginners, no previous experience or knowledge is necessary.

Buddhist nun Kelsang Chogma

Kelsang Chogma is the Resident Teacher for Ganden Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Halifax. She has been practising and teaching meditation and modern Buddhism for over twenty years.

Chogma was ordained as a Buddhist nun in 2009 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and serves as a wonderful example of the ordained way of life in the modern world. She is loved for her joyful enthusiasm and gentle skill in guiding meditations.

Class One: Wednesday 12th May – How to Keep Going

Faced with difficulties, it’s very easy to get discouraged and to give up. But if we learn how to empower our mind with joyous effort, we can keep going through both the good times and the bad.  With effort – a light and joyful approach – we can accomplish anything.  Everybody is welcome.

Class Two: Wednesday 19th May – How to Control Your Mind

If we train our mind to become peaceful we will be happy all the time, even in the most adverse conditions.  But if our mind is not peaceful, even if we have the most pleasant external conditions we will not be happy.  Therefore it is important to train our mind through meditation!  Everybody is welcome.

Class Three: Wednesday 26th May – How to Find Inner Peace

The way to find the supreme inner peace and happiness of enlightenment is through wisdom – realising the ways things really are.  When we develop this wisdom, we will finally find the freedom and joy we’ve always yearned for, and be able to help others find it too.  Everybody is welcome.
