Thursdays in Todmorden

Join us on Thursdays for meditation classes that can improve the quality of your life. Seating is on chairs and there’s no need for special clothing. Each class includes guided meditations, an inspiring teaching and time for questions. 

There’s no need for any previous experience, and no need to book –  you can drop in any week!

Healing Ourself With Meditation: a 6-week series (attend any class)

Meditations that restore harmony within your body and mind

In this brief series we will introduce meditations that can restore the harmony within your body as well as more profound meditations that heal your mind of negativity.

In this 6-week course you will gain insight into the mind-body connection through powerful, ancient healing meditations taught by Buddha in a modern and accessible way.

Feb 27: Rest the mind, heal the body

Discover how to use breathing meditations to rest the mind, remove tension and begin the healing process.

Mar 5: Transforming the breath

Learn how the simple act of breathing can transform into a powerful healing practice that causes mental peace and happiness, improves concentration, enhances your love, compassion and wisdom, and brings great meaning to your life.

Mar 12: Mind-body connection

Through understanding the different levels of our mind and body we can use special meditations to heal the more subtle levels and produce a profound and deep healing experience.

Mar 19: Protecting our mind with mantra

Mantra mean ‘mind protection’. In this class we’ll learn how to combine mantra and meditation so that we can receive inspiration and quickly pacify our mind.

Mar 26: Healing the heart

Feel more connected with others, thereby overcoming feelings of loneliness and isolation, and deepening our experience of love and compassion. Through these meditations we can bring about a profound transformation in all of our relationships and heal our heart with peaceful, positive energy that makes us truly happy.

Apr 2: Dissolving away pain

Pain naturally appears to us as something solid and undeniably real – something inherently existent – but when we search for it analytically, trying mentally to isolate pain from everything that is not pain, we cannot find it. Pain has no independent, concrete existence. This lack of inherent existence, or emptiness, is the real nature of pain. In emptiness there is no pain. Pain is merely an appearance to mind, existing only for a mind that does not see its real nature. Just as a mirage in a desert disappears when we search for it, so pain ceases to exist when we discover its real nature.
