One Million Mantras of Compassion
For all those drowning in the ocean of suffering
OM MANI PEME HUM
Join us in counting a collective total of one million mantras of the Buddha of Compassion to help those struggling to find light in a darkening world.
Mantras are a powerful method for connecting with the inspiring energy of the Enlightened Beings to help both ourselves and others. Reciting mantras and prayers together with others multiplies their power. The initial reason we decided to collect one million mantras are the heartbreaking suicides and attempted suicides that occur so frequently from North Bridge, just outside the Buddhist Centre. We pray for all those affected, the families, friends and the people themselves, in whatever realm they may be in now. We pray for all those suffering from depression, fear, hopelessness, and deteriorating mental health. May the light of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, heal the hearts of all beings locked in the cycle of suffering.
OM MANI PEME HUM
We will hold an Avalokiteshvara puja every Wednesday at 6pm to 6.40pm which everyone is welcome to join. You can also count mantras in your own time, here in the meditation room or at home, with or without doing the chanted prayers. The important thing is to recite the mantras with compassion and faith. The best way to count is to use a “mala” or rosary, and then jot down your totals. When you next come to the centre you can write the numbers down in the notebook at the back of the meditation room. Together we can make a difference to the collective energy.
