Friday Night Lectures
An opportunity to explore aspects of spirituality in contemporary society in a thought provoking but light way. There will be a short lecture by one of our teachers, followed by questions and discussion. There will not be any meditation or prayers. Everyone welcome.
What happens after we die?
Is death the end of everything for us, or is there some kind of life after death? Is consciousness an emergent property of brain activity, or can it exist even without the brain? Even if consciousness can exist independently of our body, can we as individual personalities survive? Why does Buddhism accept the doctrine of reincarnation or rebirth? How is a belief in reincarnation compatible with the Buddhist doctrine of no – self?
