A day of Meditation
Meditation is a method for making our mind peaceful and positive. There are many different kinds of meditation, and on this workshop we will learn a variety of different meditation techniques, all drawn from the Buddhist tradition. We will look at and practise breathing meditations for calming our mind and relaxing our body; meditations for developing a loving and compassionate heart; meditations to help us become aware of our own mind and let go of negativity; and visualization practices. Each meditation will be introduced, guided, and then practised in silence. The aim of the course is to become familiar enough with a variety of meditation techniques so that we have a meditation toolkit at our disposal to apply whenever we need it. This workshop is aimed mainly at beginners but also as a refresher for those who already have a meditation practice.
Most people choose to meditate sitting on a chair, but we also have a variety of meditation cushions if you prefer.
